I have a bloodhound mix dog. He has deep ear canals and has had trouble with ear infections his entire life.
For the past two weeks he has had an infection in both ears that I have been trying to treat with the conventional medicine from the vet, which consists of ear wash followed by antibiotic ointment. There has been no improvement at all.
I decided to try my essential oils, using one drop each of Melaleuca Alternifolia, Lavender, and Purification. I rubbed the oils around each ear and down the neck where the ear canals would be. Then I put one drop of Purification on my finger and put it down the well of each ear.
Later that evening I noticed that the horrible smell associated with ear infections was gone. I checked both ears, and they were clear and pink. The infection was gone!
I put Thieves essential oil blend on the pads of his feet this morning to ensure that the infection stays gone.
