Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.
I had a tooth extracted recently, and past experience prepared me for lots of bruising, swelling, and pain.
I decided to do some research and found that the PanAway oil blend could not only help with the discomfort but also the bruising and swelling.
On the day of the extraction I took the over-the-counter pain relief that was provided by the dentist. Unfortunately, I do not react well to pain relief with codeine in it. I also rubbed PanAway on my jaw, cheek, and ear.
Starting the next morning I took regular paracetamol (acetaminophen) and rubbed PanAway (diluted with a carrier oil 50:50) on my jaw, cheek, and around my ear on the side of the extraction.
Not only did I have no bruising or swelling, but the discomfort was almost forgotten. There was some aching but no real pain. In fact, no one believed that I had an extraction until I showed them the gap.
By day three I was managing the discomfort with PanAway only; and after seven days I was back to normal. This was less than half the recovery time of previous extractions.

Study 5: "The myth that the effect of oil-pulling therapy on oral health was just a placebo effect has been broken, and there are clear indications of possible saponification and emulsification process, which enhances its mechanical cleaning action." | Link |
2. | Associated topics: dental — "Both clove and benzocaine gels had significantly lower mean pain scores than placebos. No significant difference was observed between clove and benzocaine regarding pain scores. Clove gel might possess a potential to replace benzocaine as a topical [anesthetic] agent before needle insertion." | Link |
