My Middle Finger Was Bent Downward

I suffer from psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and several months ago ended up with a severe case of trigger finger (TF). The middle finger on my right hand was bent downward, and I could not straighten it.

Not only did this severely limit the use of my hand, but it was extremely painful if I accidentally knocked the finger or if I even used the hand at all, as it would move the finger ever so slightly. I thought that initially it was just the arthritis... until I found out that it actually had a name and that typically in its severity, would require surgery to correct.

I was surprised to find "trigger finger" in the essential oils reference book and it listed Lemongrass essential oil as a possibility. I did not have Lemongrass, but I did have the Purification oil blend, which I know contains Lemongrass in its blend. So I figured "Why not?"

I started applying 2 to 3 drops to my palm and all around the finger and within about a week I was able to straighten my finger back out.

It has been fine ever since and I saved myself an unnecessary surgery.
