After having my third child, I developed PMS symptoms I'd never had before... primarily extreme irritability. We're talking "out-of-body experience" irritability. I would see myself screaming for no reason at my family, but I couldn't control myself.
My OB/GYN prescribed Prozac for the second half of each cycle. It worked wonders, but it also gave me heartburn.
I began searching for essential oils that could replace my prescription. The Dragon Time essential oil blend seemed the logical choice, but I also read that Basil essential oil helped with hormone-related irritability.
Once my prescription ran out, I decided to not renew it. I had enough of the heartburn! I bought both essential oils and started the following routine on the same days that I would have taken the Prozac:
I mix in my hand 4 drops of Dragon Time and 2 drops of Basil, rubbing it all over my lower abdomen and lower back. I then rub 2 drops of Dragon Time and one drop of Basil together on both sides of my ankle and repeat on the other ankle. I do this in the morning and at night.
Though essential oils are not a substitute or replacement for Prozac, they work just like the prescription but without the killer heartburn. And I smell like black licorice, which comes from the Fennel essential oil in the Dragon Time. LOL.
