Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.
I am new to essential oils, but I thought my experience might help others who are having problems with snoring and possible sleep apnea.
My snoring was keeping my wife awake so that she was rarely getting a good night's sleep. In addition, I was having to get 9 or 10 hours of "sleep" per night to feel rested. I suspect that I also had sleep apnea.
My daughter suggested that I try essential oils. So I found a recipe using essential oils in a coconut carrier oil, and my daughter made some up for me in a 1 ml sample bottle:
* 4 or 5 drops Peppermint
* 2+ drops Lavender
* 2+ drops Lemon
* Coconut oil
At the same time, I saw a recommendation for sleeping on a wedge of pillows to raise the head. In addition, I started using a NeilMed Sinus Rinse each night to clear out my nose and sinuses. When I started all three steps, my snoring stopped instantly like turning off a switch!
It has been about two months now, and my wife says that I sleep as quietly as a mouse. In addition, I am now sleeping only about 7 to 8 hours a night most nights, so I am obviously sleeping more soundly.
I have experimented and found that the essential oils are the most important step. Sleeping on a wedge of five pillows is the next most important factor, and the sinus rinse is not needed unless I am feeling congested when I go to bed.
Both my wife and I have been amazed at the instant difference!
