I have used Thyme essential oil for more than one situation.
First, my stepdaughters had a nasty cough. There was no telling if it was from allergies, a cold or smoke from the other household.
While they were sleeping and coughing a great deal, I applied on a cotton ball one drop of Thyme essential oil mixed with coconut oil. I only swiped it across their chests and within 2 to 3 minutes they were completely relieved.
I had a tubal ligation, for which a catheter was used. I was 90% sure that I had developed a urinary tract infection (UTI).
So I repeated the same protocol that I had used with my stepdaughters, except that I rubbed Thyme essential oil on my lower abdomen and pelvic region just before bed.
By morning I was so relieved that I was able to pee!
