Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.
Like most new mamas, I tend to become quite anxious when my baby is sick. Because she is in day care, this happens more often than I would like.
At only five months old, she was recently diagnosed with a double ear infection. The nurse practitioner who diagnosed my baby suggested that she go on a third round of antibiotics. He also gave us a referral to an ear, nose, and throat specialist (ENT) for possibly installing tubes in her ears.
I was naturally very upset by this diagnosis and did not want to put my baby on antibiotics again, but I let fear drive my decision. This was on a Wednesday. She ended up vomiting everywhere after her second dosage of the Augmentin.
I threw my hands up in the air and told my husband that was the end. We were going to handle this holistically. I took my baby to a chiropractor and also rubbed Lavender essential oil (1 drop diluted in coconut oil) behind her ears in the morning, after work, and before bed.
I took my baby back to the pediatrician on Monday, just five days after the initial diagnosis/antibiotics/ENT debacle, and the pediatrician said that her ears looked very good. Needless to say, I signed up to get the essential oils at wholesale that very evening!
In the days that followed, my baby improved even more with continued application of Lavender essential oil.
I truly believe that the Lavender oil not only soothed her ear pain but supported her body in its fight against the infection.
