Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.
Many dogs react terribly to walking in the ice melt and salt that is put on roads and sidewalks every winter. Owners oftentimes don't relate the paw issues to the actual source. The dog may be seen excessively licking the paws or biting at them. The pads or areas in between may even break out. The answer is to get the salt and chemicals off the paws as soon as you get home.
Depending on the size of the animal, prepare a foot bath that covers the paws while the animal stands:
* Add a first aid antiseptic solution containing 10% povidone-iodine until the water looks like a very weak tea. You can buy this in a large bottle at places such as Rite-Aid, Walmart, etc.
* Now add 3-4 drops of a quality Lemon essential oil - swirl to mix.
* Finally, have your pet stand in this solution for 30 seconds.
* Rinse and dry the paws.
This solution can be reused for the entire day. Make a new batch each day. You may contact me for other uses of essential oils and pets.
