Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

I got a new house with tons of plants and my gift from the house was a patch of poison ivy. Great - could have lived without that gift.

I ended up being exposed without realizing it so I spread the poison ivy rash from my forehead, to my cheek, and then to my other check. Yep, thanks to the Tervis glass I spread it before realizing the itchiness was poison ivy.

Then I saw the poison ivy vine, brushed it again and finally realized what was happening on my face.

That evening I was debating what to use to stop the itch and trying to prevent it from spreading. I researched how urushiol works, a compound in poison ivy, and saw that it acts like a grease. What breaks down grease? Thieves Household Cleaner! I had been cleaning the house with that for several days so I knew my skin did not react badly.

So next I took a shower using Thieves Household Cleaner as my "soap". The rash did not seem to spread and finally died down over the next couple days.

I don't know how great this idea was but it certainly worked. I figured it could not be any worse than any commercial poison ivy treatment; and better yet it was super cheap compared to those commercial products which were $15-$42.

I will always have Thieves Household Cleaner on hand for its many uses!
