Regular Silver Polish No Match For Essential Oils

I just found an interesting discovery. While cleaning out an old tube of Thieves toothpaste with a sterling silver spoon, instead of rinsing it off right away after using it, I thought what would happen if I rubbed it into the silver. IT WORKED and polished the silver!

I then put it to the challenge of using it on some very stubborn silver tarnish that regular silver polishes didn't even come close to removing. I rubbed a dab on and let it sit while experimenting with the rest of the silverware I had to match what I just experienced. It worked again! It came out with its original luster.

I then went back to the old piece of silver with the stubborn tarnish and low and behold it was coming off too! After a bit of rubbing it all came off and it looks like a new piece of silver. This silver spoon had been in the family well over 100 years and passed down to me.
