Recently I purchased one of Young Living's premium kits, "Premium Starter Kit with Desert Mist Diffuser." The reason being is that I live with epilepsy.

According to the Sleep Foundation, "For people with epilepsy, sleep problems are a double-edged sword; epilepsy disturbs sleep and sleep deprivation aggravates epilepsy. The drugs used to treat epilepsy may also disturb sleep. Because lack of sleep is a trigger for seizures, achieving healthy sleep on a nightly basis is essential for people with epilepsy."

Oh joy! 🙄

So you can understand why this is critical for me. Especially because sleep deprivation is the second cause of seizures. It's a huge deal! What I did that helped me to achieve a healthy sleep on a nightly basis are the following:

1. Have a regular time for bed
2. Didn't nap too much
3. Optimized sleep environment physically and mentally for sleep:

Physically
* My bedroom was made to be suitably dark and quiet.
* Shielded from distracting noise (traffic, other people who arise earlier, etc).
* I made the bed comfortable, and I optimized the temperature.

Psychologically
* My bedroom, and particularly the bed, was associated with sleep and not with other (particularly active) activities.
* I refrained from activities in my bed other than sleep, particularly stressful activities (doing work, studying, or balancing the checkbook). This also includes avoiding reading or watching television in bed.

I also used my Mist Diffuser where I mixed water with several drops of three essential oils:
1. Lavender
2. Lemon
3. Peppermint

Ever since I used my Mist Diffuser with the three essential oils, it's being a major part of my sleep hygiene because it helps me sleep! I'm so glad I purchased the Starter Kit. My results occurred the first night I used it! It really was a huge impact in my life that I needed so bad!
