Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

I have had many experiences with Peppermint essential oil including repelling insects and treating insect bites.

To begin with, therapeutic grade essential oils are as effective as any DEET product for avoiding mosquito bites. I find Peppermint works the best for me, but have also used Lavender, Rosemary, Basil, Thyme and other oils. I don't even step out on my back patio in Tennessee in the spring through summer without spraying myself with a solution I keep of 5 drops Peppermint per 4 ounces of water, and a few drops of good quality liquid soap.

If I am outdoors for long, especially in the mornings and late afternoons, I use the Peppermint oil neat on my legs, arms, neck and scalp. It helps to keep mosquitoes away from others, too! If I get bit, I rub it with the oil which stops the swelling and it disappears quickly.

We use the same solution as above to keep spiders out of our basement, freshen sheets and pillowcases, to keep aphids off roses, and disinfect any surface in the bathrooms or kitchen.

We always add essential oils (therapeutic grade only), especially Peppermint, to our drinking water. We drip Peppermint neat on muscle and neck pain, back pain, bruises, cuts and infections. We drip it along windows, cabinets, and doors to keep ants out of the house.

I once was bitten by a spider, what kind I don't know. Immediately it hurt and began to swell. I believe Peppermint saved me a trip to the ER and kept me from a lot of pain. I dripped a few drops of Peppermint, Helichrysum and Wintergreen oils directly on the bite. I wrapped the bite in oil-soaked cotton balls when I slept. If it would begin to hurt I'd just drip more oils on it and it would stop hurting in minutes. In a few days the bite site was back to normal.

We love our high quality essential oils!

Treatment of infected cochlear implants with novel agents such as tea tree oil could significantly improve salvage outcome."Link
2.Associated topics: infection — "The antibacterial activity of 14 essential oils and their major constituents in the gaseous state was evaluated against [respiratory tract pathogens] Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Staphylococcus aureus. [The] oils [with cinnamon bark, lemongrass, and thyme being most potent] and their major constituents were shown to be effective against various bacteria tested.... These results indicate that the antibacterial action of essential oils was most effective when at high vapor concentration for a short time."Link
3.Associated topics: muscle-pain,back-pain — "We examined the evidence regarding the effect of herbal medicine on pain in people with non-specific low-back pain (LBP).... Lavender essential oil applied by acupressure appeared effective in reducing pain and improving flexibility compared to conventional treatment."Link

In vivo analysis and histological assay showed that the two essential oils displayed significant dose-dependent edema [swelling] inhibition effect over time. They displayed strong analgesic [pain-relieving] and antipyretic [fever-reducing] properties similar to that induced by 50 mg/kg of acetylsalicylate of lysine....
