Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.
I had a friend who became deathly ill. She had a virus around her heart. The doctors sent her home saying that there was nothing that they could do for her. I had offered oils to her husband, but I think he did not want to bother me, so he said no thanks. I went home and took a nap.
When I woke up, I felt inspired to take oils over to their home. I did not know much or how to help her really, but I knew that I had oils that were anti-viral. Even if they did not choose to use them, I wanted them to have them.
Oils like the Thieves oil blend, Oregano and Lemon I thought they might be able to use and took them over. I sat in the driveway, called on my cell phone and told him that I had left oils on cotton balls in a baggie with instructions on how and where to use the oils. I told her husband that I had stuck them in the door if they wanted to use them. He thanked me and I left.
I heard nothing for two days. I'm on pins and needles worried, but not wanting to intrude. Two days later she called me and said two words on the phone, "Come over." That was all that she had the strength for. I grabbed my oils and my book and got over there. She was so weak.
I started rubbing oils all over, what ever I felt inspired to use. The Joy oil blend was one of her favorites. I went over every day for about three days, then every other day for a little while. I brought NingXia Red juice and had her drink that. I had the diffuser going. She began to feel better and continued to improve. She loved the oils and would wear them all of the time. She joked about the "aroma".
They moved and we lost touch. I just emailed them last week. They are in Japan serving a mission for our church. She is as happy and vibrant as she once was. She is such a sweet woman.
I am so glad that the oils were able to help her.

1. | Associated topics: inflammation — "Cineole has mucolytic, bronchodilating and anti-inflammatory properties and reduces the exacerbation rate in patients suffering from COPD, as well as ameliorates symptoms in patients suffering from asthma and rhinosinusitis.... The effects of Cineole in the treatment of acute bronchitis were clearly measurable and could be proven after a treatment period of merely 4 days. This study corroborates the fact that Cineole actively and significantly reduces cough frequency after four days." | Link |
2. | Associated topics: virus — "The presence of beta-caryophyllene in many essential oils might contribute strongly to their antiviral ability. These results indicate that phenylpropanoids and sesquiterpenes present in essential oils contribute to their antiviral activity against HSV [herpes simplex virus]." | Link |
3. | Associated topics: virus — "Taken together, we found an essential oil blend [Orange, Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary] notably attenuates influenza virus PR8 infection in vitro via inhibition of viral protein synthesis at the post-transcription level. The lack of toxicity and potent specific inhibition ability make the essential oil a possible antiviral drug for influenza virus proliferation control and treatment." | Link |
4. | Associated topics: inflammation — "[W]e studied the anti-inflammatory and gastroprotective effects of C. citratus [Lemongrass] and E. citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus] essential oils on formol-induced edema and acetic acid induced abdominal cramps in Wistar rats.... In vivo analysis and histological assay showed that the two essential oils displayed significant dose-dependent edema [swelling] inhibition effect over time. They displayed strong analgesic [pain-relieving] and antipyretic [fever-reducing] properties similar to that induced by 50 mg/kg of acetylsalicylate of lysine.... This work demonstrates the anti-inflammatory property of Cymbopogon citratus [Lemongrass] and Eucalyptus citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus], suggesting their potential role as adjuvant therapeutic alternatives in dealing with inflammatory-related diseases." | Link |
5. | Associated topics: inflammation — "To assess their anti-inflammatory activities, effects of essential oils on neutrophil activation were examined in vitro.... All essential oils tested at 0.1% concentration suppressed TNF-945;-induced neutrophil adherence, and, in particular, lemongrass, geranium, and spearmint oils clearly lowered the reaction even at 0.0125%. Similar inhibitory activities for the neutrophil adherence were obtained by their major constituent terpenoids: citral, geraniol, citronellol and carvone. Thus, some essential oils used as anti-inflammatory remedies suppress neutrophil activation by TNF-945; at a low concentration (0.0125-0.025%) in vitro." | Link |
6. | Associated topics: heart — "Myrtle oil (MO) exerts hypoglycemic as well as mild hypotriglyceridemic activity in diabetic animals. The reduction in blood glucose level may be due to the reversible inhibition of alpha-glucosidases present in the brush-border of the small intestinal mucosa, higher rate of glycolysis as envisaged by the higher activity of glucokinase, as one of the key enzymes of glycolysis, and enhanced rate of glycogenesis as evidenced by the higher amount of liver glycogen present after MO administration." | Link |
7. | Associated topics: inflammation — "Ruxiang (Gummi olibanum), the dried gum resin of Boswellia carterii (BC) [frankincense], has been used in traditional Chinese medicine to alleviate pain and inflammation for thousands of years.... The data show that BC extract has significant anti-arthritic and anti-inflammation effects and suggest that these effects may be mediated via the suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokines." | Link |
8. | Associated topics: inflammation — "We have demonstrated that Boswellia frereana [frankincense] prevents collagen degradation, and inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory mediators and MMPs. Due to its efficacy we propose that B. frereana should be examined further as a potential therapeutic agent for treating inflammatory symptoms associated with arthritis." | Link |
