We started using the oils for our adopted special needs child about 4 years ago. He is very "involved" (needing more services) as a result of substance abuse of the bio mother, malnutrition of the mother during pregnancy and a massive stroke at birth. He was actually stillborn, with total system failure and didn't take his first breath for 40 minutes after birth.

Part of his current diagnosis is chronic lung disease. As he was on an ng tube for about 6 months, it caused terrible acid reflux, and scarring of the lungs, as he also aspirates a lot. We received him into our home at 8 months of age as a foster child, and he was on antibiotics often, as he would get pneumonia and tracheal infections repeatedly.

I am happy to say that in the past 4 years since his adoption, he has been on antibiotics for a total of 4 or 5 days, and he was put on them then only because I panicked. This is not to say he has not been ill; he has been ill very many times, but we have treated him with prayer and oils, and God has pulled him through again and again.

At one point, his fever was above 105 degrees. We did not take him to the doctor, but treated him with oils, and entreated God for help. Again and again oils have been the exclusive method of treatment. Although he sees specialists on a regular basis, he has not been to his primary doctor for over 2 years.

He is currently healthier than he has ever been in his life. We have refused flu and pneumonia shots since the adoption, and he has not died from the flu, like his PCP said he would. His orthopedic doc is always surprised that he does not have scoliosis.

Although the professionals all told us that he would not live long when we took him (a matter of weeks), he is now ten years old, and is a very happy, loving child. He is unable to walk, sit, talk, or even brush a fly off of his face, but the blessing he is and has been to our family is beyond description.

May I add that I do not have a problem with doctors; on the contrary, they are a very necessary part of our lives and I appreciate their knowledge and skill. Most of my children would not be alive today if we had not had doctors in times of emergencies.

I do, however, believe that natural remedies that have no side effects are a better choice than side-effect causing drugs.
