Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.
My friend's mare had a foal recently. At a day old it ended up with scours/diarrhea. I checked my essential oils reference book and it suggested the DiGize oil blend.
I made a mixture of 3 drops DiGize and 10 drops extra virgin olive oil and put it in a small (needle less) syringe. I instructed my friend to squirt the DiGize mixture into the foals mouth.
She also made a mixture of 5 drops DiGize to 20 drops of extra virgin olive oil and rubbed the oil along the foals flank area towards the umbilical cord area.
She did this at 9:30 am and by that evening the foal was having regular bowel movements.
