In summary, I cut the pad of my thumb almost completely off. A huge chunk in the middle of my thumb pad was filled in with new skin after two months of recovery.
During the first week following the accident, I was suffering from major pain. With stitches, a large bandage wrap and constant bleeding I needed something for the pain. The hospital gave me Vicodin, which I ended up only taking one time and regretted doing so. It made me feel sick to my stomach, dizzy, and immobile. With two little ones and a house to run, I couldn't do that.
The next day someone introduced me to Young Living Essential Oils and helped me overcome the pain. I was given the PanAway oil blend, Lavender oil, and Copaiba oil. I applied a drop or two to my wound and thumb area. Instant results with mobility returning. Within seconds my thumb pain stopped throbbing and I could finally relax my tight and tense muscles.
Anytime I felt pain, which was every 3-4 hours, I would just dab a little PanAway oil to my hand. It was the only way I could function after such a traumatic injury.
In the end, this accident brought about an incredible discovery to the powerful effects of essential oils!
