Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.
I was new to oils, and an elderly friend showed me a weeping, open sore on her leg about 1/2" across. She told me her doctor had not been able to get it to clear up and amputation was mentioned. (This was not the first wound like that.)
I had some Melrose oil blend, so a couple nights later stopped at her home. I nearly fainted when she showed it to me, as it had grown to about 1" across, and fluid was running down into her sock.
I thought to myself, "This lady is going to lose her leg," but tried to act positive, said a little prayer, and rubbed her feet with the oil, then thought she had nothing to lose by my dropping them directly into the center of the sore. I wasn't really very hopeful of any results.
I stopped the next night, and she told me she had gotten the first full night's sleep the night before in weeks, as the pain had stopped soon after I had left her the night before. She showed me her leg, and the sore had lost it's angry redness, was beginning to granulate at the edges, and was much "firmer" and not oozing any more! I was amazed!
I continued coming the entire week, and by the end of 8 applications of Melrose once a day, there was new, pink healthy skin, and the tiny open area was about the size of a pencil eraser, and was dry and looking great! She told me she had a doctor's appointment the next day.
When I stopped to see her after work, the house was dark, and I checked with a friend, who told me her doctor had put her in the hospital. I went to see her, and she was hooked up to an IV with such a powerful antibiotic being fed into her that they had to check for kidney function every 5 doses!
She was in the hospital 4 weeks, and after that had to go into a nursing home. The sore worsened to where they were again talking "amputation," and she was never able to go home again.
I am completely convinced that she would have enjoyed her independence for a longer time, barring unforeseen incidents, if she hadn't had that doctor's appointment, so the story doesn't exactly have a "happy ending," but the point is, the OILS WORKED!

2. | Associated topics: sore-/-ulcer — "In the present study, we have evaluated the gastroprotective activity of turmeric essential oil (TEO) and ginger essential oil (GEO) in rats.... Histopathological examination showed that ethanol-induced lesions such as necrosis, erosion, and hemorrhage of the stomach wall were significantly reduced after oral administration of essential oils.... Results suggest that TEO and GEO could reduce the gastric ulcer in rat stomach as seen from the ulcer index and histopathology of the stomach. Moreover, oxidative stress produced by ethanol was found to be significantly reduced by TEO and GEO." | Link |
