When going to the university, our daughter was working in a sea food restaurant on weekends that was situated in a park right at the ocean. There lived a whole clan of stray cats, that survived mainly on the scrapes from that restaurant.

One day when she came to the kitchen to pick up an order, the whole kitchen staff was out in the yard, running after a dog with pots and sticks, making a big racket. The dog was carrying away a tiny kitten in his mouth, that he finally dropped. Injured and scared, the little creature ended up in our house.

The vet decided Little Streak, the name our children gave to the kitten had a slim chance to survive due to internal injuries. I put a bit of Lavender floral water over her, but Streak scratched and hissed, whenever my hand came into her box.

Nevertheless, after a few days she jumped out of the box and moved under our daughter's bed, where she resided in the farthest corner for 6 weeks. She did start to drink a little water and eat little tiny amounts. However the scratching and hissing went on, whenever a hand reached under that bed.

Then Christmas came, and we had a live Christmas tree. One day we noticed, that Streak would indeed venture out from her hiding spot and sit on the soil under the tree, whenever nobody was in the house. As soon as we came home, she would run for her spot under the bed.

One day our oldest son snuck up on Streak and ran after her, trying to catch her. Streak frantically ran down the long hallway in her panic, constantly banging her head on the walls. Finally she collapsed and our son picked her up.

She was very tensed up - totally in shock. I ran for the rescue remedy, but could not find it. So I got to my oil cupboard and took out two oils: the Trauma Life and Sarah oil blends. When I applied a drop of Trauma Life on her paw, nothing happened. Then I applied a drop of Sarah, remembering that Gary Young had designed it to help people that had been physically abused in childhood.

In the very moment I applied Sarah, the whole body of Streak softened, we sat down on the bed with her and she let us stroke her, for the first time! Then she even started to purr. What a joy!

After a while, she went back to her spot under the bed, but from that day on came out to eat her food with the other two cats we have and one day started to reside on top of our daughters bed, enjoying some gentle strokes.

Today, two years after, she is the cuddliest pussy you can imagine. Only sudden moves can make her dive under a bed again, but not for long. Streak will forever remain our little oil miracle cat. She loves the oils, especially when diffused, they keep her free from fleas.
