Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.
When I was labouring with my 4th child my girlfriends massaged the Gentle Baby oil blend into my feet for 30 minutes or more. They used quite a lot as I recall (from 5 years ago). Anyway, the labour slowed and finally stopped, much to my disappointment as my son was already full term.
The labour re-commenced 4 days later followed by an uneventful birth. I used Clary Sage in the advanced labour when the contractions were coming in quick succession pairs and it took it edge off the pain. It was a natural birth.
Because Gentle Baby is such a calming, relaxing blend (and also reduces stress) this also may be why my labor stopped.
So while Gentle Baby had an unintended effect on this labour, I have had plenty of time to think about what happened and I am convinced that it would be a useful remedy for threatened premature labour.
