Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.
This weekend I was called to a friend's house as she was near-hysterical about her 34-year old horse being down in the field (on the snow-covered ground). I grabbed all of my oils, not knowing what I'd need, did a quick check in the essential oils desk reference for colic, and got over there as quickly I could.
When I arrived they had the horse up and around, and not knowing what had happened I put Peppermint and Frankincense on his gums, and the DiGize oil blend on his stomach (I had no idea if he had a bout of colic, but I didn't want to take a chance). He started eating and drinking fine, and by the time the vet arrived, he appeared ok...especially for a 34 year old horse.
But, the real story here isn't the horse, it's the owner! The gal who owns him has been through pure hell, no other way to say it. She was basically poisoned by a moron of a doctor who had her take an outrageous amount of steroids, which caused her to have three blood clots in her leg, and she eventually had to have her leg amputated just below her left knee.
After we were sure the horse was going to be ok we went inside the house, and she was still hysterical so I had her breathe the Peace & Calming oil blend very deeply, and rub it on her wrists, her neck, all over her face. After a few minutes, if even that long, she started calming down.
We went into her kitchen and I started telling her about the oils. She mentioned how bad her leg hurts and she showed me the "stump"; it was a terrible angry looking dark purplish color, and very cold. I don't have any experience with this sort of thing, but I was drawn to put Tea Tree, Frankincense and the PanAway oil blend on the stump.
Within seconds the stump took on a much healthier color; she was astounded, as was her husband! She told me that she'd never seen the stump that color, it had always been that unhealthy "angry" looking color. She said her mom would never believe that it could look that good.
Following that I promptly signed her up, but before I left I wanted to put the oils on her leg one more time. The second time I decided to use Tea Tree and Frankincense (I use that for everything!) Instead of PanAway, I put on Peppermint. I then put some PanAway in her palm and had her rub it on her leg and hip where she'd been having so much pain.
Since she had the oil on her other hand, she also rubbed it onto her back since that had been sore also. She told me as she was getting ready to put it on her back that she had to be very careful because her back was so painful it hurt to even touch it...it was less than 10 seconds and she was literally smacking herself on her shoulder and all but yelling "Oh my God! Oh my God! This doesn't hurt! Oh my God!".
Summary: Peppermint, Frankincense, and DiGize for the horse. Peace & Calming, Tea Tree, Frankincense, PanAway, and Peppermint for the human. Oh, forgot to mention that I put Eucalyptus Globulus on the husband's hands and he could breathe again.
What an amazing day!
