Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

After a few days of feeling as if I had the flu, I broke out in a rash on my back with blisters. I woke up 2 mornings later and just prayed that the Lord would show me what was going on. He told me I had shingles.

My husband began that morning to apply oils, and I started using my portable sauna, to help cleanse impurities out of me. At first, I also was taking a homeopathic for flu, since I thought that was what I had. It did relieve the aches over my whole body, but of course did not relieve the shingles.

The products I used were Young Living Thieves oil blend (first to help numb the rash, which hurt terribly!) Then layered with Lavender oil, Marjoram, the Purification oil blend, Frankincense, and followed that with LavaDerm spray, which has Lavender as well as aloe vera in it.

On top of that, we applied Un-petroleum jelly from Alba Botanica, and covered the rash with a large bandage (thankfully, my rash did not cover a very large area, as I know it can!)

My husband also began giving me daily Raindrops, which we did for a week, and then I did a foot Raindrop for another 3-5 days. About Day 5, we could tell that the rash was getting better. By Day 10, the rash was looking very faded, and by Day 14, the rash was completely gone!

I could barely believe that my rash and symptoms were gone in that short a period of time, but they were! I have had friends that have dealt with it for up to 6 months at a time!

I thank God for my Young Living oils!!

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: herpes — "The presence of beta-caryophyllene in many essential oils might contribute strongly to their antiviral ability. These results indicate that phenylpropanoids and sesquiterpenes present in essential oils contribute to their antiviral activity against HSV [herpes simplex virus]."Link
2.Associated topics: neuralgia, herpes, shingles — "The patient was successfully treated with topical peppermint oil [for postherpetic neuralgia, a complication of shingles].... The authors believe this is the first evidence of peppermint oil (or menthol) having a strong analgesic effect on neuropathic pain."Link
3.Associated topics: herpes — "Essential oils from anise, hyssop, thyme, ginger, camomile and sandalwood were screened for their inhibitory effect against herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) [genital herpes]. A clearly dose-dependent virucidal activity against HSV-2 could be demonstrated for all essential oils tested. Chamomile oil exhibited a high selectivity index and seems to be a promising candidate for topical therapeutic application as virucidal agents for treatment of herpes genitalis."Link
