Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.
One evening several months ago, my 10 year old son and I were fixing sweet popcorn for a snack. I was warming coconut oil and honey on the stovetop to pour over the popcorn, when the mixture started to boil.
My son saw it boiling and trying to be helpful, was going to remove it to the cabinet.
His hands slipped, and both hands went into the BOILING mixture.
I immediately found a bowl to put cool water in to remove the oil and honey off his hands while cooling the burn as well. (I knew this probably meant second and/or third degree burns, thinking it best not to have water running over a burn in such a case.)
I replaced the water several times to keep the water cool and remove the sticky mess. During those times, I could see blisters forming on his fingertips. I had been and continued to pray to the Lord as to what I should do for my son who was screaming, and in intense pain.
After I felt like enough of the stickiness had been rinsed off, I soaked cotton balls in Vit. O (from R Garden) for about 15-20 minutes. I felt the Lord directing me to make a blend of oils using the Valor oil blend, Lavender and Helichrysum.
I then took half a cotton ball slightly moistened with pure water so that the oils would stay on the top of the cotton ball and not be absorbed into it. Then I applied several drops of that blend to the tips of the cotton balls, and placed one on each of his fingertips, with a band-aid gently around each finger to secure everything.
I reapplied the oil blend two more times that evening, and again the next morning. I was able to fix everything so that I could re-apply the oils without removing the bandage, just lifting the cotton balls slightly, so I really didn't even see his fingertips when re-applying the oils.
By noon the next day, my son was bugging me terribly to remove the band-aids. I told him we would look at his fingers, and then decide if we could leave them off, thinking there was no way we would be able to.
To my utter amazement, there were NO blisters, open or raw flesh on ANY of his fingers. They were only a little pink, and only a bit sensitive to touch! His fingers are perfectly fine! Praise the Lord!
I am SO thankful to the Lord for leading me to using Young Living essential oils!

1. | Associated topics: burns — "Burn Healing Potential of Nigella sativa seed oil in rats.... Nigella sativa L. (Black cumin) has shown a broad spectrum of pharmacological effects like antipyretic [fever reducing], analgesic [pain reducing], anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial.... The present study suggests the burn wound healing action of seeds may be due to anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of major compounds in the oil." | Link |
2. | Associated topics: burns — "Melaleuca Alternifolia [tea tree] Hydrogel... was compared with tap water as a coolant following application onto a fresh, deep, partial-thickness hot water burn.... Effective cooling of the burn wound and an increased rate of wound healing was achieved by both repeated tap water compresses and by immediate or delayed application of Melaleuca Hydrogel. Cooling is an effective means to reduce tissue damage and increase wound healing." | Link |
3. | Associated topics: helichrysum-oil — "...its flowers and leaves are the most used parts in the treatment of health disorders such as allergies, colds, cough, skin, liver and gallbladder disorders, inflammation, infections and sleeplessness... In vitro studies characterized Helichrysum as an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory agent. Its flavonoids and terpenes were effective against bacteria (e.g. Staphylococcus aureus), its acetophenones, phloroglucinols and terpenoids displayed antifungal action against Candida albicans and its flavonoids and phloroglucinols inhibited HSV and HIV, respectively.... Regarding Helichrysum italicum in vivo activity, the highlight goes to ...the anti-inflammatory properties exhibited by its flavonoids, acetophenones and phloroglucinols, as seen in animal models." | Link |
