Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

This weekend the winds were blowing all the ragweed and other pollen around. I also helped clean a ladies' house. I started to get a cold and sore throat by Saturday and so began taking a few drops of the Inner Defense and RC oil blends. I added the Thieves oil blend on my chest, neck and feet and increased my NingXia Red juice to 1 ounce 4x a day.

I was feeling much better by Saturday night, but then Sunday I went to a friend's house who had cats. I used to have asthmatic symptoms when I was around cats (allergies to pollen, cats, ragweed. It was the allergy trifecta for me!).

I hadn't that experience in several years. I think because my body was already stressed and dealing with additional irritants that it got overwhelmed and I ended up wheezing and having an asthma attack.

I went out to my car and grabbed my oils. I pulled off my socks and shoes and oiled my feet with RC, Breath Again and Aroma Siez oil blends. I also oiled my chest and back of my neck. Then I had my son (who is 10) take several of the oils I had and layer them on my back similar to a Raindrop Technique. I did Thieves, RC, Breath Again, Aroma Siez, Lavender oil and finally Peppermint.

Within 5-10 minutes the wheezing was almost totally gone. After 15-20 minutes, though tired, my breathing was almost completely clear and my sinuses were opening as well.

This would have taken much longer in the past and I would have ended up trying to get a rescue inhaler. I haven't had to address this in 7 years thanks to the oils.

I went inside and filled up the bathroom sink with hot water and added a couple drops of RC to the water, draped a towel over my head and breathed in the steam and diffused for several minutes as well, to really get some of the oils into my lungs. It was still difficult to inhale through my nose at that point or I would have just cupped my hands over my nose..

As of today (Monday) I am 85-95% well, with only a minor cough and some sinus congestion that I expect to be gone in the morning after another night next to my diffuser. I applied Lemon and Lavender around the outside of my ear and down to my lymph nodes to help with additional draining.

I am still taking 2 Inner Defense 3x a day and 3-4 ounces of NingXia Red and oiling with RC every few hours. I will do this protocol for at least 2 more days. Then I will decrease it but continue for a few more days. In the past, this weekend would have stretched out into almost 2 weeks of breathing and congestive issues. 3 days to getting better is amazing!

I feel that the oils supported my health and I love that I had no side effects like some of the meds I used to take before having children. As a mom of 4 kids now, feeling light headed or having other side effects from over the counter meds isn't ok and solving this in 3 days instead of 14 is wonderful.

Thank you Young Living and to God's perfect pharmacy, essential oils!

2.Associated topics: breathing-/-inhale,respiratory-system,lungs-/-pulmonary,colds — "Cineole has mucolytic, bronchodilating and anti-inflammatory properties and reduces the exacerbation rate in patients suffering from COPD, as well as ameliorates symptoms in patients suffering from asthma and rhinosinusitis.... The effects of Cineole in the treatment of acute bronchitis were clearly measurable and could be proven after a treatment period of merely 4 days. This study corroborates the fact that Cineole actively and significantly reduces cough frequency after four days."Link
3.Associated topics: colds — "Taken together, we found an essential oil blend [Orange, Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary] notably attenuates influenza virus PR8 infection in vitro via inhibition of viral protein synthesis at the post-transcription level. The lack of toxicity and potent specific inhibition ability make the essential oil a possible antiviral drug for influenza virus proliferation control and treatment."Link
4.Associated topics: respiratory-system — "Foeniculum vulgare Mill, commonly called fennel, has been used in traditional medicine for a wide range of ailments related to digestive, endocrine, reproductive, and respiratory systems. Additionally, it is also used as a galactagogue agent for lactating mothers.... Foeniculum vulgare has emerged as a good source of traditional medicine and it provides a noteworthy basis in pharmaceutical biology for the development/formulation of new drugs and future clinical uses."Link
5.Associated topics: respiratory-system,sore-/-scratchy-throat — "The antibacterial activity of 14 essential oils and their major constituents in the gaseous state was evaluated against [respiratory tract pathogens] Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Staphylococcus aureus. [The] oils [with cinnamon bark, lemongrass, and thyme being most potent] and their major constituents were shown to be effective against various bacteria tested.... These results indicate that the antibacterial action of essential oils was most effective when at high vapor concentration for a short time."Link

[T]hyme, cinnamon, lemongrass, tea tree, lavender, oregano, clove, palmarosa, or cajeput [melaleuca] EOs [essential oils] are known to be active against Streptococcus pyogenes, while oregano, basil, mint [peppermint], rosemary, and lavender EOs are known to inhibit another Gram-positive bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus [staph].... We showed that cinnamon presented the higher activity against S. pyogenes compared to the other EOs tested.... 14 [essential oils] showed antibacterial activity against Streptococcus pyogenes.... Among them Cinnamomum verum [cinnamon bark], Cymbopogon citratus [Xiang Mao], Thymus vulgaris CT thymol [thyme], Origanum compactum [oregano], and Satureja montana [Mountain Savory] essential oils exhibited significant antibacterial activity.
