Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

I am extremely grateful for the knowledge Gary Young has shared since 1996. The oils quite literally saved my life from a severe scooter accident in Mexico on the island of Cozumel while on a Young Living cruise.

I veered of the road, flew over the handlebars and plowed my face into a coral rock at 25 miles an hour. I broke my cheekbones, upper-palate in half, right orbital bone (right eye) and my nose was hanging off on the right side. In a word my face was hamburger.

An American doctor and the island ambulance came on the scene almost immediately even though my traveling companion, Julie and I were in the middle of no-where. Once in the ambulance Julie and I began chanting a Tibetan chant silently to ourselves to calm the situation and it worked quite well.

After the Cozumel Hospital finished all the X-rays, they determined that I would be staying with them for a while. The ear, nose, eye and throat specialist immediately sewed my nose back on.

In the meantime Julie was taking care of all the logistics; jamming our suitcases in record time to get our belongings off the cruise ship before it left port and notifying family members, etc.

We settled in my new hospital room equipped with a bed for Julie too. She began applying our abundant supply of Young Living Oils several times a day directly on my face and neck and shrunk the swelling by 80% in two days.

This prepared me for the really big six and a half hour surgery of inserting seven steel plates and 34 screws to hold my face together. As a result I have never suffered any pain whatsoever, not even a headache.

I was discharged from the hospital after eight days and my life slowed down for about six months. Even within those six months I fell in love, vacationed in Hawaii and got married in Damanhur, Italy.

I have very little scarring and no typical head injury symptoms at all. I also began writing a book that is now published about the sequence of events that are truly extraordinary and quite mind-boggling. "It's Not Weird Anymore: An Extraordinary True Tale" won the "2011 Readers Favorite Award."

Here are the four main essential oils I used to repair the damage.

* Helichrysum can help support the skin, liver, and nervous system
* Frankincense oil can help boost the immune system, relax muscles and decrease inflammation and depression
* Juniper can help nerve repair, release toxins, increase circulation, work as an antiseptic, and release fluid retention
* Lavender oil can help with scarring, pain, and nervous tension

The Raindrop Technique was applied daily to the spine points on my feet.

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: inflammation — "Cineole has mucolytic, bronchodilating and anti-inflammatory properties and reduces the exacerbation rate in patients suffering from COPD, as well as ameliorates symptoms in patients suffering from asthma and rhinosinusitis.... The effects of Cineole in the treatment of acute bronchitis were clearly measurable and could be proven after a treatment period of merely 4 days. This study corroborates the fact that Cineole actively and significantly reduces cough frequency after four days."Link
2.Associated topics: general-pain — "We examined the evidence regarding the effect of herbal medicine on pain in people with non-specific low-back pain (LBP).... Lavender essential oil applied by acupressure appeared effective in reducing pain and improving flexibility compared to conventional treatment."Link
3.Associated topics: general-pain — "Peppermint and its active ingredient menthol have long been used for the treatment of various pain conditions including headache.... Menthol solution can be an efficacious, safe and tolerable therapeutic option for the abortive treatment of migraine."Link
4.Associated topics: general-pain,inflammation — "[W]e studied the anti-inflammatory and gastroprotective effects of C. citratus [Lemongrass] and E. citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus] essential oils on formol-induced edema and acetic acid induced abdominal cramps in Wistar rats.... In vivo analysis and histological assay showed that the two essential oils displayed significant dose-dependent edema [swelling] inhibition effect over time. They displayed strong analgesic [pain-relieving] and antipyretic [fever-reducing] properties similar to that induced by 50 mg/kg of acetylsalicylate of lysine.... This work demonstrates the anti-inflammatory property of Cymbopogon citratus [Lemongrass] and Eucalyptus citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus], suggesting their potential role as adjuvant therapeutic alternatives in dealing with inflammatory-related diseases."Link
5.Associated topics: inflammation — "To assess their anti-inflammatory activities, effects of essential oils on neutrophil activation were examined in vitro.... All essential oils tested at 0.1% concentration suppressed TNF-945;-induced neutrophil adherence, and, in particular, lemongrass, geranium, and spearmint oils clearly lowered the reaction even at 0.0125%. Similar inhibitory activities for the neutrophil adherence were obtained by their major constituent terpenoids: citral, geraniol, citronellol and carvone. Thus, some essential oils used as anti-inflammatory remedies suppress neutrophil activation by TNF-945; at a low concentration (0.0125-0.025%) in vitro."Link
6.Associated topics: general-pain — "Lavender essential oil has been used as an anxiolytic [anxiety] drug, a mood stabilizer, a sedative, spasmolytic [muscle spasms], antihypertensive [high blood pressure], antimicrobial, analgesic [pain] agent as well as a wound healing accelerator.... The present study suggests that inhalation of lavender essential oil may be an effective and safe treatment modality in acute management of migraine headaches."Link
7.Associated topics: head-trauma — "We report on a patient whose severe post-ECT headaches responded completely to methyl salicylate [wintergreen] ointment, applied to the area of his temporalis and masseter muscles. Topical methyl salicylate is generally well tolerated and may be a viable option for some patients with post-ECT headache."Link
8.Associated topics: general-pain — "In traditional folk medicine, tarragon [Artemisia dracunculus L. (Asteraceae)] has been used for treatment of pain and gastrointestinal disturbances.... This study reported the peripheral and central antinociceptive activity of the EOAD [essential oil of A. dracunculus] and rationalized the traditional use of the plant in the treatment of different painful conditions."Link
