My mom fell crosswise off steps several years ago and the muscle tore away from the bone on her shoulder when she caught herself in the fall. She had surgery to have it reattached to repair the injury and got her movement back, but she still experiences pain there if she does anything that stresses it, including light some exercise movements.
The pain goes from her shoulder up the side of her neck. She applies Peppermint when she goes to bed and the pain is lessened when she wakes up the next morning. It's not all the way gone, but she thinks that's because she doesn't use it often enough.
I'm going to look up what oils would help to repair the damage to the muscles or nerves so she doesn't experience the pain at all.
