Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

I had a frozen shoulder last week. I have had it before 15 years ago and it was treated by acupuncture after going to a chiropractor and using a supplement, glucosamine sulfate for several weeks.

This time I tried to see a MD but I found my insurance didn't cover acupuncture. I then scheduled an acupuncture appointment for the following week as I was willing to pay the out of pocket costs.

During the weekend I added different essential oils to my shoulder like Lavender, Cypress, Peppermint and the Valor oil blend. These were oils that I had available.

I also looked up information in the essential oil integrated medical guide. I added the oils in layers and after that I put wet warm compresses on my shoulder for approximately ten minutes. I did the procedure 3 times per day. I held my arm still and tried not to use it at all.

After two days of using essential oils the pain in the arm had gone from level 8 to level 2 and I was able to lift my arm up to my face. Before using the oils I was only able to lift my arm about 30% and it was very painful. Four days after I started the essential oils I had full range of motion in my arm and the pain was gone.

I cancelled my acupuncture appointment. I have now used the Young Living brand for over seven years.

Lavender works well for minor burns, cuts, skin problems and sleep. Peppermint is great for alertness and clarity. Oregano helps with allergies, colds, tooth abscess and arthritis pain. Lemon can alleviate bee stings and works well in laundry. I am truly impressed with the oils.

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: joints — "Ruxiang (Gummi olibanum), the dried gum resin of Boswellia carterii (BC) [frankincense], has been used in traditional Chinese medicine to alleviate pain and inflammation for thousands of years.... The data show that BC extract has significant anti-arthritic and anti-inflammation effects and suggest that these effects may be mediated via the suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokines."Link
2.Associated topics: joints — "We have demonstrated that Boswellia frereana [frankincense] prevents collagen degradation, and inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory mediators and MMPs. Due to its efficacy we propose that B. frereana should be examined further as a potential therapeutic agent for treating inflammatory symptoms associated with arthritis."Link
3.Associated topics: joints — "Herbalists treat skin ailments, such as fungal infections (like candidiasis), wounds, eczema, and acne, with lavender oil. It is also used in a healing bath for joint and muscle pain. One study evaluating treatments for children with eczema found [that] it was therapeutic touch from the mother that improved symptoms; in other words, massage with and without essential oils (including lavender) both reduced the dry, scaly skin lesions. Another study found that lavender oil may improve pain control after surgery."Link
