I had been working in my flower garden and dropped a large jagged rock on my hand. It gouged a deep wound into my finger and deposited lots of black soil in the wound. It hurt something awful.
I came inside and washed it. It hurt so bad all I could stand was a gentle stream of cold water. I rinsed as much soil from the wound as possible. Didn't do any more to it, because of the discomfort. By evening the finger was swelling so much I couldn't bend it and it really hurt!
Then the "well, duh" moment hit me. Essential oils! Since I was new to the oils when this happened, all I had was Thieves and Peace & Calming. I dropped 2 drops of Thieves on the wound and again about an hour later before going to bed, dropped another drop on the wound.
The next morning no pain, no swelling just an open wound on my finger. I dropped some more oil on it and totally forgot about it.
Just recently, my "mighty hunter" (the cat) brought a baby squirrel to his "brothers" two Min-Pins. The baby was still alive but I think his little back was broken. I picked him up and he could move enough to bite my finger. I put the little guy in the woods where I thought he would be safe, came back to he house, washed the wound, dropped Thieves on it and didn't tell my hubby till the next morning.
I asked him to find the spot where the baby had bitten me. He finally found it but it was difficult! There were 2 puncture wounds but one was completely closed and the larger one was almost closed! Thieves--I don't want to be without it!!! The strange thing is that the Thieves oil did not sting either time I used it for those wounds but other times when I have used it, it has stung. I don't know what the difference is but I do know it is worth any pain the Thieves caused to receive the healing I received from it!!!
