Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.
My 20 year old son came home from college saying his throat was sore.
Day 1 when we thought it was just a sore throat I treated it with Thieves lozenges and NingXia Red juice. Then we went to the doctor to be sure it wasn't strep, as I always like to know what I'm treating. He felt fine, so we assumed it was just a virus.
Day 2: Horrendous throat pain (that nothing much helped) and complete exhaustion, I made a mega capsule with ImmuPower, 5-6 drops of the Thieves oil blend and Frankincense. Also rubbed same oils on his feet adding extra Thyme and Oregano. Did this 2 times as well as kept going with the NingXia red.
Day 3: Pretty much a repeat of day 2, but by evening he began to get a bit of energy back.
Day 4: Took him for blood work as he was supposed to go back to college the next day. Continued with the ImmuPower capsules and NingXia Red juice packets. Still clearly sick-but feeling better.
Day 5: He got the Mononucleosis diagnosis, but by then he was over the worst.
Day 6, 7 and 8 - switched to Inner Defense capsules and two NingXia Red doses. Kept him home for good measure.
Day 9 - back to college with his baggie of NingXia Red packets and bottle of Inner Defense and a promise that he will take one each and every day.
Day 10 - 15: Says he's perfectly fine, going to bed earlier than usual just to be safe, but otherwise all is good.
WOW! Impressive, especially since it takes months for other people to get over mono.

1. | Associated topics: sore-/-scratchy-throat — "The antibacterial activity of 14 essential oils and their major constituents in the gaseous state was evaluated against [respiratory tract pathogens] Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Staphylococcus aureus. [The] oils [with cinnamon bark, lemongrass, and thyme being most potent] and their major constituents were shown to be effective against various bacteria tested.... These results indicate that the antibacterial action of essential oils was most effective when at high vapor concentration for a short time." | Link |
2. | Associated topics: exhaustion — "Lavender, mint [peppermint], orange, rose, chamomile, rosemary, and sage were used.... Depression levels in the touch-music-aroma therapy group... showed a larger decrease than in the... control groups [that did not include aromatherapy].... [FMS] symptoms such as restless sleep, headache, morning fatigue, exhaustion, feeling like crying, and bowel complaints were also significantly reduced." | Link |
3. | Associated topics: sore-/-scratchy-throat — "Streptococcus pyogenes [strep] plays an important role in the pathogenesis of tonsillitis.... [T]hyme, cinnamon, lemongrass, tea tree, lavender, oregano, clove, palmarosa, or cajeput [melaleuca] EOs [essential oils] are known to be active against Streptococcus pyogenes, while oregano, basil, mint [peppermint], rosemary, and lavender EOs are known to inhibit another Gram-positive bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus [staph].... We showed that cinnamon presented the higher activity against S. pyogenes compared to the other EOs tested.... 14 [essential oils] showed antibacterial activity against Streptococcus pyogenes.... Among them Cinnamomum verum [cinnamon bark], Cymbopogon citratus [Xiang Mao], Thymus vulgaris CT thymol [thyme], Origanum compactum [oregano], and Satureja montana [Mountain Savory] essential oils exhibited significant antibacterial activity. The in vitro results reported here suggest that, for patients suffering from bacterial throat infections, if aromatherapy is used, these essential oils, considered as potential antimicrobial agents, should be preferred." | Link |
4. | Associated topics: sore-/-scratchy-throat — "[T]he antibacterial activity of lemongrass oil (LG) and its major components (citral, geraniol, and myrcene) against four strains of clinically isolated bovine mastitis pathogens (Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae, Bacillus cereus, and Escherichia coli).., as well as their activity on S. aureus biofilm formation [were investigated].... [T]hey inhibit S. aureus biofilm formation and exhibit effective killing activities on preformed biofilms." | Link |
5. | Associated topics: mono — "...results suggest that Clove oil can modulate the immune response by augmenting humoral immunity and decreasing cell mediated immunity." | Link |
