Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

The following experience comes from my friend whom I helped get started with Young Living essential oils.

"On 3-3-13, I came over to her home. I showed her my left upper arm bicep area where earlier in the week, I had reached down and felt an excruciating, sharp pain in the lower part of my left bicep. Due to a chronic neck injury, it has affected the muscles in my upper arms and they have atrophied.

Backing up a little, on 2-28-13, I noticed bruising on the interior of my arm right above the elbow joint. Then on Sunday, I re-tweaked the injury with a milder type of pain. While visiting my friend I showed her the injury and she said, "Wow, OMG!" She went out of the room and came back with a bottle of the Valor oil blend.

I had heard about this oil blend but had not used it. However, it was on a list of oils I wanted to order after reading testimonials on various websites.

M friend then clipped my hair up off my neck line, and placed almond carrier oil in palm of her left hand and added 3 drops of Valor and swirled them clockwise to evenly distribute the oil for application. She then massaged the oil into the nape of my neck and from the skull down to the top of my shoulders.

I believe she did this for about 5 minutes. She then used Peppermint on my neck for about 5 minutes. She then suggested that we do the same to my bruised and swollen arm. She first applied Valor gently on the whole bicep area and the swollen joint area right above the elbow hollow. My doctor has described this as a snapped tendon. She then applied Peppermint to that entire area.

I went to bed about 11:00 pm and woke up as usual about 1:00 am and went back to bed at about 1:45, still feeling some discomfort in mainly the arm. I fell asleep at about 2:00 am, laying in a position on my back with body and head tilted to the right, which I normally can only do for 10-15 minutes because it then is very uncomfortable.

When I woke up, I was in the same position, looked at the clock and it was 6:30 am and I was still very comfortable, with no discomfort. I was SHOCKED to be in that position 4.5 hours later. My neck has never felt better----no pain; my injured left arm was not throbbing as it usually does. I then called her and was so excited to share my results with her because I was so totally amazed myself!

She came over that morning with one of her bottles of Valor that was 1/4 full and gave it to me, along with an aroma glide fitment so that I could continue using the oil until my shipment of oils came in. She wanted me to use the oil to continue the response that I was experiencing.

Through this initial injury I had been applying Peppermint and Lavender oil over the left arm bicep injury, which both helped, but the most relief experienced was when Valor was added.

I thoroughly believe in these oils and intend to order more of them, including Valor and the PanAway oil blend for neck and back pain issues for both me and my husband.

She originally posted this on my sister's Facebook page. I was the one who applied the oils to her neck and arms and saw the "before and after". I was so pleased for the results that she received.

She is now a wholesale customer of these essential oils!

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: inflammation — "Cineole has mucolytic, bronchodilating and anti-inflammatory properties and reduces the exacerbation rate in patients suffering from COPD, as well as ameliorates symptoms in patients suffering from asthma and rhinosinusitis.... The effects of Cineole in the treatment of acute bronchitis were clearly measurable and could be proven after a treatment period of merely 4 days. This study corroborates the fact that Cineole actively and significantly reduces cough frequency after four days."Link
2.Associated topics: muscle-pain — "We examined the evidence regarding the effect of herbal medicine on pain in people with non-specific low-back pain (LBP).... Lavender essential oil applied by acupressure appeared effective in reducing pain and improving flexibility compared to conventional treatment."Link
3.Associated topics: inflammation,swelling-/-swollen-/-puffy — "[W]e studied the anti-inflammatory and gastroprotective effects of C. citratus [Lemongrass] and E. citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus] essential oils on formol-induced edema and acetic acid induced abdominal cramps in Wistar rats.... In vivo analysis and histological assay showed that the two essential oils displayed significant dose-dependent edema [swelling] inhibition effect over time. They displayed strong analgesic [pain-relieving] and antipyretic [fever-reducing] properties similar to that induced by 50 mg/kg of acetylsalicylate of lysine.... This work demonstrates the anti-inflammatory property of Cymbopogon citratus [Lemongrass] and Eucalyptus citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus], suggesting their potential role as adjuvant therapeutic alternatives in dealing with inflammatory-related diseases."Link
4.Associated topics: inflammation — "To assess their anti-inflammatory activities, effects of essential oils on neutrophil activation were examined in vitro.... All essential oils tested at 0.1% concentration suppressed TNF-945;-induced neutrophil adherence, and, in particular, lemongrass, geranium, and spearmint oils clearly lowered the reaction even at 0.0125%. Similar inhibitory activities for the neutrophil adherence were obtained by their major constituent terpenoids: citral, geraniol, citronellol and carvone. Thus, some essential oils used as anti-inflammatory remedies suppress neutrophil activation by TNF-945; at a low concentration (0.0125-0.025%) in vitro."Link
5.Associated topics: inflammation — "Ruxiang (Gummi olibanum), the dried gum resin of Boswellia carterii (BC) [frankincense], has been used in traditional Chinese medicine to alleviate pain and inflammation for thousands of years.... The data show that BC extract has significant anti-arthritic and anti-inflammation effects and suggest that these effects may be mediated via the suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokines."Link
6.Associated topics: inflammation — "We have demonstrated that Boswellia frereana [frankincense] prevents collagen degradation, and inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory mediators and MMPs. Due to its efficacy we propose that B. frereana should be examined further as a potential therapeutic agent for treating inflammatory symptoms associated with arthritis."Link
7.Associated topics: inflammation — "Anti-inflammatory, spasmolytic [muscle spasms], antimicrobial, antioxidant, carminative [flatulence] and immunomodulatory properties of caraway suggest that it might exert beneficial effects on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).... CHE and CEO [caraway essential oil] at all doses tested were effective in reducing colon tissue lesions and colitis indices and the efficacy was nearly the same when different doses of plant fractions were administered p.o. or i.p..... These data suggest that caraway fractions are both effective and possess anti-colitic activity irrespective of the dose and route of administration."Link
8.Associated topics: inflammation — "Phytogenic compounds with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties are currently discussed as promising complementary agents in prevention and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Our study aimed to evaluate possible protective and curative effects of broccoli extract (BE) and of the essential oils of turmeric (Cuo), thyme (To), and rosemary (Ro) in a rat model with a mild dextran sulphate sodium- (DSS-) induced colitis.... We conclude that the phytogenic additives tested have a promising anti-inflammatory potential in vivo and a particular role in the prevention of IBD."Link
