I suffer from migraine headaches from time to time. I was given a migraine prescription last year and I let it expire. Since being introduced to Young Living oils I didn't see a need to keep up on any of my prescriptions. Plus I hadn't had an episode in over a year so I thought my migraines were a thing of the past. Boy was I wrong.
Two days ago I awoke with a major migraine. I was extremely nauseous and sensitive to light and sound. Every time I tried to even sit up in my bed I was so weak and thought I would be sick. My two older children and husband had already left for the day and I was left alone with my three year old so I knew being sick was not an option.
I dragged myself out of bed and grabbed my Peppermint oil. I was too sick to even apply it to my feet, so I settled with applying it to my neck, temples, forehead and throat. After a few minutes I was well enough to get up and make my son breakfast, turn on the cartoons and then back to bed. I fell asleep for an hour, my three year old by my side the whole time.
When I woke up I felt so much better. The nausea was completely gone and just a throbbing headache left. I was able to sip on some water (with the nausea I am usually unable to stomach even fluids) applied the Peppermint again, forehead, temples, back of the neck and laid down again. Within half an hour I was up and about making dinner and doing laundry.
When my older children arrived from school later that day, I was able to take another short nap. This time I awoke a completely different person. The migraine was completely gone! I could not believe it! In the past my migraines have driven me to my bed for up to three days! I am so impressed!
I drank a lot of water the rest of the day and night and applied Peppermint to my feet before going to bed that night for good measure and slept like a baby!
I thank God I was introduced to essential oils! It's literally changed my health and my life!

5. | Associated topics: stress-/-tension-/-burnout,anxiety-/-worry — "A number of essential oils are currently in use as aromatherapy agents to relieve anxiety, stress, and depression. 6. | Associated topics: stress-/-tension-/-burnout,anxiety-/-worry — "Most studies, as well as clinically applied experience, have indicated that various essential oils, such as lavender, lemon and bergamot can help to relieve stress, anxiety, depression and other mood disorders. Most notably, inhalation of essential oils can communicate signals to the olfactory system and stimulate the brain to exert neurotransmitters (e.g. serotonin and dopamine), thereby further regulating mood." | Link |
7. | Associated topics: stress-/-tension-/-burnout,anxiety-/-worry,relaxation-/-rest — "The ylang ylang oil caused a significant decrease of blood pressure and a significant increase of skin temperature. At the behavioral level, subjects in the ylang ylang oil group rated themselves more calm and more relaxed than subjects in the control group. These findings are likely to represent a relaxing effect of the ylang ylang oil and provide some evidence for the usage of the ylang ylang oil in aromatherapy such as causing a relief of depression and stress in humans." | Link |
8. | Associated topics: stress-/-tension-/-burnout,migraine,anxiety-/-worry — "Lavender essential oil has been used as an anxiolytic [anxiety] drug, a mood stabilizer, a sedative, spasmolytic [muscle spasms], antihypertensive [high blood pressure], antimicrobial, analgesic [pain] agent as well as a wound healing accelerator....
