Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

I was stressed that we were late for school. I knew it would be a bad day because my child woke up vomiting in the bathroom a few times, complaining her head was hot as she coughed and said she didn't feel good and that her stomach hurt.

She had fever, vomiting, cough and sore throat symptoms. I think it was the flu, probably stomach flu, considering her tummy hurts. We definitely had a lot going on that day and days after. All I could envision was that we would be stuck at home, sick, for the next 2-3 days, and maybe more.

I gave her the Thieves and RC oil blends, Peppermint and Oregano, topically every hour, 3-4 drops applied on the stomach, behind ears, the bottoms of feet, along the spine and diffused the Thieves blend. She was feeling better by 10 am, back in school by 11 am with no symptoms when she got back at 3 pm. Dr. Mom saves the day!

This, of course, saved daddy a $50 co-pay at the doctor's office, plus endless damaging prescription medications and antibiotics.

Young Living essential oils continues to amaze me! I just love my oils!

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: cough — "Cineole has mucolytic, bronchodilating and anti-inflammatory properties and reduces the exacerbation rate in patients suffering from COPD, as well as ameliorates symptoms in patients suffering from asthma and rhinosinusitis.... The effects of Cineole in the treatment of acute bronchitis were clearly measurable and could be proven after a treatment period of merely 4 days. This study corroborates the fact that Cineole actively and significantly reduces cough frequency after four days."Link
2.Associated topics: virus — "The presence of beta-caryophyllene in many essential oils might contribute strongly to their antiviral ability. These results indicate that phenylpropanoids and sesquiterpenes present in essential oils contribute to their antiviral activity against HSV [herpes simplex virus]."Link
3.Associated topics: virus — "Taken together, we found an essential oil blend [Orange, Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary] notably attenuates influenza virus PR8 infection in vitro via inhibition of viral protein synthesis at the post-transcription level. The lack of toxicity and potent specific inhibition ability make the essential oil a possible antiviral drug for influenza virus proliferation control and treatment."Link
4.Associated topics: upset-stomach-/-tummy — "Foeniculum vulgare Mill, commonly called fennel, has been used in traditional medicine for a wide range of ailments related to digestive, endocrine, reproductive, and respiratory systems. Additionally, it is also used as a galactagogue agent for lactating mothers.... Foeniculum vulgare has emerged as a good source of traditional medicine and it provides a noteworthy basis in pharmaceutical biology for the development/formulation of new drugs and future clinical uses."Link
5.Associated topics: upset-stomach-/-tummy — "Gastroprotective effects of Lemon essential oil: In ethanol model, CL (citrus lemon) and LIM (limonene) [component of Lemon] demonstrated 100% of gastroprotection.... In the indomethacin model, CL and LIM offered effective gastroprotection...."Link
6.Associated topics: upset-stomach-/-tummy,fever-/-febrile -/-temperature-/-(Pyrexia) — "[W]e studied the anti-inflammatory and gastroprotective effects of C. citratus [Lemongrass] and E. citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus] essential oils on formol-induced edema and acetic acid induced abdominal cramps in Wistar rats.... In vivo analysis and histological assay showed that the two essential oils displayed significant dose-dependent edema [swelling] inhibition effect over time. They displayed strong analgesic [pain-relieving] and antipyretic [fever-reducing] properties similar to that induced by 50 mg/kg of acetylsalicylate of lysine.... This work demonstrates the anti-inflammatory property of Cymbopogon citratus [Lemongrass] and Eucalyptus citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus], suggesting their potential role as adjuvant therapeutic alternatives in dealing with inflammatory-related diseases."Link
7.Associated topics: upset-stomach-/-tummy — "D-limonene is one of the most common terpenes in nature. It is a major constituent in several citrus oils.... Being a solvent of cholesterol, d-limonene has been used clinically to dissolve cholesterol-containing gallstones. Because of its gastric acid neutralizing effect and its support of normal peristalsis, it has also been used for relief of heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux (GERD). D-limonene has well-established chemopreventive activity against many types of cancer. Evidence from a phase I clinical trial demonstrated a partial response in a patient with breast cancer and stable disease for more than six months in three patients with colorectal cancer."Link
8.Associated topics: upset-stomach-/-tummy — "In the present study, we have evaluated the gastroprotective activity of turmeric essential oil (TEO) and ginger essential oil (GEO) in rats.... Histopathological examination showed that ethanol-induced lesions such as necrosis, erosion, and hemorrhage of the stomach wall were significantly reduced after oral administration of essential oils.... Results suggest that TEO and GEO could reduce the gastric ulcer in rat stomach as seen from the ulcer index and histopathology of the stomach. Moreover, oxidative stress produced by ethanol was found to be significantly reduced by TEO and GEO."Link
