Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.
SUCCESS! My 8-year-old daughter has suffered from an unknown illness for nearly 5 years now.
It would start with a horrible headache -- almost migraine-like -- and a severe stomach ache and swollen joints all over. It would progress to a swollen and painful "on fire" feeling in her stomach. She would start getting huge welts on her body -- head to toe -- even to the point of layering hives and welts on top of one another!
This advanced to the point of her having to be life flighted to a children's hospital because the hives were internal -- down her windpipe and in the back of her mouth, as well as inside her stomach and intestines. This was terrifying to me as a parent.
We consulted with 7 different medical centers and twice as many doctors. The Mayo Clinic had no clue. It seemed that they were throwing medicines at this unknown disease hoping one would stick, but they always made sure we had EpiPens, Benadryl, and steroids.
Oh, yeah, the steroids.... My daughter now has the start of glaucoma due to the steroid usage. Because she did respond with fewer attacks, they labeled her with a rare autoimmune disease: Mast cell activation syndrome, AKA mastocytosis, MCAS, or MCAD.
I found Young Living Essential Oils through a friend a few months back. I was so skeptical that I had to take my time to do my own research. As you could imagine, I was guarded at throwing any more "crap" at my daughter. She was on 4 medications already... to the tune of thousands of dollars -- and a fight with insurance ensued to get them to pay for it all.
Now, to the success.... I researched and figured that the essential oils cannot be worse than what I am subjecting her to already, so I ordered the Premium Starter Kit... and ordered more oils... and she has been taking several of the essential oils each day.
She has stopped all of her meds, and she has not had any attacks! I am ecstatic, and I wanted to share our story for anyone else that suffers from this horrible yet rare disease.
I LOVE my essential oils. I seriously have never been part of something that sells itself. I give out samples for people that come to me skeptical, and they come back to me saying, "That is the most relief I have ever had. How do I order?" How gratifying!
UPDATE:
Yes! So as you know my daughter has been using essential oils instead of all the prescription meds for her mast cell activation syndrome. Well, she has not had an attack since December!
She has a spot on her stomach that seems to be the spot that shows the hives first, and it started again late this afternoon. She put essential oils right on it and -- I am not joking -- gone in 10 minutes... and no full-blown attack! That is so monumentally huge!
Ugh, I feel like I finally found help for her. I could cry. I seriously am so mad at myself that I wasted 3 months researching this. I was so skeptical, but there are so many MLM companies out there just for the money.
I would pay a million dollars to help my daughter. Luckily the Young Living essential oils are CHEAPER than my daughter's prescription meds. A sample is all it takes to treat an outbreak!
I am so happy to be a part of this company and thankful for what it has done for all of us, especially our little girl.
UPDATE 2-12-2015
I am having a hard time keeping up with the multitude of emails and responses for this health challenge which is great because it shows that we aren't alone. It seems this disease is affecting many people of various ages, demographics, races, etc.
I'm happy to share what we have used to assist in aiding her body during an attack or as a proactive approach to avoid them but remember what works for us may not work for you. It was months of trial and error to get a regimen that works for her.
Daily we use 2-4 oz of NingXia Red juice and we increase it if she feels any symptoms of an attack start to appear no matter how small.
She uses ImmuPower daily on her feet twice a day.
She applies equal parts (premixed in a recycled oil bottle) Lavender, Cypress, Wintergreen and Peppermint and applies that daily to her stomach, neck and/or feet. She also diffuses this in between her nightly Thieves Diffusing.
I put 5 drops of Thieves and 5 drops of Copaiba in a capsule and she takes that morning and night to help with her gut flare ups.
She takes 1 capsule of Life 5 in the morning.
She takes 4 Sulfurzyme daily.
I can't tell you how much of a change I see in her. More confident, less paranoid about an attack, she can apply her oils herself and has actually shared so much she's got quite the reputation at age 9 of a "saleslady" although I really dislike the term "selling".
We share...you have to after our successes, this one by far being the largest. She's entering middle school next year and we had a meeting with the school and they will allow her to continue to apply the oils as needed and carry them with her, another big win!

4. | Associated topics: upset-stomach-/-tummy,inflammation — "[W]e studied the anti-inflammatory and gastroprotective effects of C. citratus [Lemongrass] and E. citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus] essential oils on formol-induced edema and acetic acid induced abdominal cramps in Wistar rats.... In vivo analysis and histological assay showed that the two essential oils displayed significant dose-dependent edema [swelling] inhibition effect over time. They displayed strong analgesic [pain-relieving] and antipyretic [fever-reducing] properties similar to that induced by 50 mg/kg of acetylsalicylate of lysine.... This work demonstrates the anti-inflammatory property of Cymbopogon citratus [Lemongrass] and Eucalyptus citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus], suggesting their potential role as adjuvant therapeutic alternatives in dealing with inflammatory-related diseases." | Link |
5. | Associated topics: immune-system,autoimmune-diseases — "DHEA [a component of PD 80/20], an androstene hormone [precursor to estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, cortisone, and other hormones], has been shown to possess a wide range of beneficial biological effects mainly attributed to immune system modulation.... thus leading to beneficial effects in diverse human diseases including resistance to infection, neuroprotection, wound healing, diabetes, hepatic injury, cardiovascular disease, and cancer." | Link |
6. | Associated topics: inflammation — "To assess their anti-inflammatory activities, effects of essential oils on neutrophil activation were examined in vitro.... All essential oils tested at 0.1% concentration suppressed TNF-945;-induced neutrophil adherence, and, in particular, lemongrass, geranium, and spearmint oils clearly lowered the reaction even at 0.0125%. Similar inhibitory activities for the neutrophil adherence were obtained by their major constituent terpenoids: citral, geraniol, citronellol and carvone. Thus, some essential oils used as anti-inflammatory remedies suppress neutrophil activation by TNF-945; at a low concentration (0.0125-0.025%) in vitro." | Link |
7. | Associated topics: upset-stomach-/-tummy — "D-limonene is one of the most common terpenes in nature. It is a major constituent in several citrus oils.... Being a solvent of cholesterol, d-limonene has been used clinically to dissolve cholesterol-containing gallstones. Because of its gastric acid neutralizing effect and its support of normal peristalsis, it has also been used for relief of heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux (GERD). D-limonene has well-established chemopreventive activity against many types of cancer. Evidence from a phase I clinical trial demonstrated a partial response in a patient with breast cancer and stable disease for more than six months in three patients with colorectal cancer." | Link |
8. | Associated topics: upset-stomach-/-tummy — "In the present study, we have evaluated the gastroprotective activity of turmeric essential oil (TEO) and ginger essential oil (GEO) in rats.... Histopathological examination showed that ethanol-induced lesions such as necrosis, erosion, and hemorrhage of the stomach wall were significantly reduced after oral administration of essential oils.... Results suggest that TEO and GEO could reduce the gastric ulcer in rat stomach as seen from the ulcer index and histopathology of the stomach. Moreover, oxidative stress produced by ethanol was found to be significantly reduced by TEO and GEO." | Link |
