Recently in Santa Barbara we had horrible murders by a mentally ill student that traumatized our entire city and all the students going into finals at UCSB. I serve with many of the doctors and nurses in an outreach to our homeless communities, so we all gathered and shared our feelings one evening and were helped by other first responders to grapple with this tragedy.

As each spoke about their issue (receiving the dead in the emergency room, telling the parents, driving into the area to pick up dead and injured while shooting was still going on, etc.), I handed out essential oils for traumas, offering for them to wear them or inhale them and hold them as long as they desired. I brought small vials to fill for each that wanted them.

I offered free Raindrop Technique sessions for emotional clearing. The Gentle Baby oil blend, Lavender, Ylang Ylang, and the Joy oil blends were favorites, as well as the emotional oils and Biblical oils. These oils generally were applied, 3-5 drops on the abdomen, wrists, brainstem, temples, forehead, neck and feet and other areas of concern.

I was grateful to be able to voice my own feelings, as I had just taught at a sorority and was so rocked by this tragedy. I found myself angry that this happened and that no one saw the obvious signs in this young man to get him help -- we were all too busy. So I worked on visualization and essential oils on my feet for myself too.

The essential oils were an integral part of our steps towards resolution.
