Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

My 12-year-old chocolate lab has all the symptoms of Cushing's disease. We have not done the cortisol stim test (AKA ACTH stimulation test) due to the cost and his lack of significant symptoms. My goal is to keep him as comfortable as possible for as long as possible.

He had the typical hair loss, and his snout was completely bald and shining! He is on medication for other older dog issues, so I figured that some essential oils may help him feel better.

I made a bottle with the following mixture:

* 40 drops Olive oil
* 40 drops Lemon oil
* 10 drops Thieves oil blend
* 10 drops Peppermint oil (to cool him off, as he has overheating issues)
* 4 drops Frankincense oil

I apply this mixture morning and night on his kidneys, on the top of his head, and on the Vita Flex points for his kidneys.

I can tell that he feels better and the top of his snout has hair again. I am working on adding additional Lemon essential oil on his liver to help his liver function, a problem with Cushing's disease. We will see how that goes.

All I know is that he is feeling better and looks great!

5.Associated topics: kidneys — "Many plant extracts that protect against the development of oxidative stress manifest clear antilithiasic activity [preventing the formation of or relieving the symptoms of kidney stones].... Evidence obtained to date supports a contributory role of polyphenols [present in essential oils] in the prevention of cardiovascular disease, some cancer types, and osteoporosis.... The results show an improvement of the renal function in some treated groups with an increase of diuresis and creatinine excretion due to polyphenols pretreatment. Our results clearly validate the ability of polyphenols to protect against papillary calcification of kidney tissue, consequently preventing the development of papillary calculi [kidney stones].... The collective findings to date support a protective effect of polyphenols on kidney tissue. Thus, considering that injury of papillary tissue constitutes the first step in the development of COM papillary calculi, the antioxidant action of polyphenols may contribute significantly to their antilithiasic action."Link
